90' ROCKS, Rector PA
This is an easy area to find. Traveling East on Rt. 30 to Rt. 711 South, take 711 South to Rector Rd. (approximately 2-3 miles past Ligonier Country Club, look for the the wooden post fence on the left) make a left on to Rector Rd. Go 1.5 miles and look for signs for Linn Run State Park on the right. Make a right, follow Linn Run Rd. approximately 4 miles. Look for the natrual spring on the right (its very obvious). There is a pull off on the left (park here). Face directly away from the spring and start hiking up the trail into the woods. As you near the top of the hill veer left and you will come to the base of the rocks. CAUTION in the warmer months, There have been numerous sightings of rattlesnakes. In the last year I've seen 13. They are spotted mostly on the approach in the large boulder field. The spring at the bottom is a great place to fill up your water bottles. The spring is for the local residents who have no running water in their summer cottages. There are a few flake climbs and are of good quality. The rocks are approximately 40' to 90' high. Please E-mail me for more info.
This area is close to beams rock. You can make a day of the two locations. Beams rock is up the road approximately 3 miles. See Beams Rock Link for directions.
