Overview:
Jumonville is a little crag area that has some reasonable routes as well as some interesting bouldering. It is a destination for the Jumonville Church Camp located a few miles up the road. Jumonville is the Church Camp that has the Large White Cross up on Chestnut Ridge. The cross is visible from route 119 down off the mountain. This area doesn't see a lot of traffic. Its a destination that is best to hit on a warm winters day. Its Southern facing rock makes for perfect sun warmed rock on the warmer winter days. Access seems to be O.K at the current time. I've never been chased out of the area by anyone. If someone does approach you please be curteous and leave peacefully.

Getting There:
From Route 40 take the left turn to Jumonville, drive past the Methodist Camp, and continue down the road past a sharp hairpin curve to the left. At this point the road is headed downhill in a westerly direction. Roughly 1/4mile beyond that sharp turn the quarry opens up on your left. DIRECTLY across the road from the open gravel piles is a short Y, dirt pulloff with room for 3 or 4 cars. Park here and walk up and left to gain a roadbed that leads back right and up the hill to the cliffline. From here there is climbing on either side of the trail. The best bouldering is at the far right end of the cliff.

Season:
People climb here all year round. Sun hits it in the winter making it a great bouldering spot on sunny winter days.
Camping:
Not much in the way of camping nearby.
