Located
just across the PA border in WV, Coopers Rock State Park lies just off
Route 68 E. 3 miles East of Cheat Lake. It is situated on Chestnut Ridge
the same primary ridge that the majority of the Southwestern Pennsylvania
crags are located on. The park is a mecca for the explorer. One could
(and has) spent years searching the park for unexplored climbing areas.
You can lose yourself for hours just working on one boulder problem
or "looking" at one area deciding which route to climb. This
climbing is the park is for everyone from the beginner to the hardman,
boulderer to lead climber. It has much more to offer than climbing,
some of the links on the left have information on the other great activities
that the park has to offer! Thanks and Happy Climbing! -Tim
