BOULDERING
The art of cranking on short intense
problems has a home in PA.
Even though we don't have extremely
high cliffs, we do have quite a few small boulder fields that offer and acceptable
amount of gritstone bouldering.... I hereby vow to search out and find the
best bouldering S.W. PA has to offer. I've been to some nice areas that have
alot of potential, but most of the PA climbers don't seem interested in "just
bouldering"! My goal is to spark some interest in local climbers and
show them that bouldering is as much fun as roped climbing. If you live outside
the Chestnut Ridge/Laurel Ridge area and know of an excellent bouldering area,
please feel free to contact me with info, photos and anything else you have,
and I will be happy to feature it on my website. If I still have your attention

- What is bouldering?
- Climbing on rocks without a rope, usually under 15' on 4-16 move "problems"
as a form of enjoyment or training.
- Normally rated by the V-Scale ranging from V0 to V14 most people average
in the V2-3 range.
- Is it really climbing? Send a V6 and then you can tell me the answer.
- What is needed to boulder?
(recommended)
- Climbing Shoes (highly recommended)
- Chalk Bag (usually on humid days)
- Bouldering Pag (for those hard or uneven landings)
- Wire Brush (for cleaning lichen covered or mossy, rock)
- H20 to keep yourself hydrated
