Bear Rocks Boulders - Acme, PA

This is a new area that I have just discovered since I bought my house in an area called Bear Rocks Community. It is on 3 mile hill Rt. 31 East outside of Mt. Pleasant. It has several large blocks that resemble Coopers Rock in WV. There is one nice crack that is about 20' tall that I cant wait to place my first piece of pro into. There are about 5 large blocks with routes of varying difficulties, being that I haven't climbed them yet I dont want to rate them. I've bouldered some of the blocks just before winter. It would be a great area for anyone just starting out. One of the faces is a beginners haven. It has large rounded tendon friendly holds and its only about 25' high. Top ropes can be set up if desired. Beware of the dog that guards the top of the rocks. Scott Richards, Matt Johns and I bouldered a bunch of routes there in the summer and fall of the '98 climbing season. For more info. Email me
